Vespers Frankfurt

Pablo Heras-Casado debuts at Oper Frankfurt leading the city’s first performances of Verdi’s Les vêpres siciliennes in French from June 16 to July 3. Verdi’s historical drama traces the 1282 Sicilian rebellion and the personal narratives caught in its throes. Pablo conducts a cast headed by Quinn Kelsey as Guy de Montfort in a production directed by Jens-Daniel Herzog. For ticket information, click here.

Pablo’s Frankfurt performances continue his Verdi focus this bicentennial season and his commitment to conducting operas from across generations. The Spanish conductor’s 2012-13 season has featured a diverse array of works, from Verdi’s Rigoletto in a high-profile production at the Deutsche Oper Berlin to the West Coast Premiere of Peter Eötvös’s Angels in America with the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Later this summer, Pablo will lead Daniel Catán’s Il Postino at the Teatro Real Madrid with a cast led by Plácido Domingo.
