RIGOLETTO AT DEUTSCHE OPER BERLIN

Pablo returns to the operatic podium to conduct Verdi’s operatic tragedy Rigoletto at the Deutsche Oper Berlin. For his performances in the German capital, Pablo heads a vocal ensemble that includes Andrzej Dobber in the title role, Teodor Ilincai as the lecherous Duke of Mantua, and Lucy Crowe as Rigoletto’s innocent daughter Gilda in a new production by Jan Bosse. The Spanish conductor’s Deutsche Oper Berlin performances take place April 21, 24, and 28.

In the coming months, Pablo’s activities will center around the operatic stage, with performances of Verdi’s Les vêpres siciliennes at the Frankfurt Opera (June 16 – July 3) and Daniel Catán’s Il Postino, featuring Plácido Domingo as Pablo Neruda, at the Teatro Real Madrid (July 17 – July 28). Verdi’s Rigoletto returns to Pablo’s repertoire this fall, when the Spanish conductor makes his New York Metropolitan Opera debut
