Metropolitan Opera 2014 2015

Following an “auspicious Met debut” earlier this season (The New York Times), Pablo Heras-Casado will return to the Metropolitan Opera in the 2014/15 season to conduct Bizet’s Carmen, the New York house announced today. Pablo’s appearances at the Met in Carmen take place September 30 through November 1. The November 1 performance will be broadcast to cinemas worldwide as part of the Met’s Live in HD series.

Last fall, Pablo gave his first performances at the Metropolitan Opera in Verdi’s Rigoletto. In its review of Pablo’s “much anticipated Met debut,” The New York Times hailed the “exciting and insightful musician” for his performance: “Mr. Heras-Casado led an engrossing account of this great Verdi score. During extended stretches, he reined in tempos and kept textures so transparent that the music came across with subdued intensity and striking freshness.”
