On 2 July, Pablo Heras-Casado will receive the Medal of Honor from the Fundación Rodríguez-Acosta for his distinguished career as a conductor and its international projection. Established in 1941, the Fundación Rodriguez Acosta is a cultural body based in Granada aiming to promote the arts throughout the region.

In a statement, the foundation said that Heras-Casado's "versatility is an essential feature in his career, which highlights a wide-ranging repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary pieces, compositions, and from chamber music to the great operas."

The Medal of Honor, with previous winners including Manuel de Falla and Andrés Segovia Torres, will be presented to Pablo Heras-Casado in a solemn ceremony in the gardens of the Foundation Carmen. This recognition from his home town is a very poignant and special moment in Pablo Heras-Casado’s career.
