Heras-Casado 2012 2013

With fall now here, Pablo Heras-Casado is looking forward to a 2012-2013 season that sees, among many highlights, his return to the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the San Francisco Symphony, as well as debuts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra and Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia. 2012 – 2013 is also Pablo’s first full season as Principal Conductor of the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He makes his Carnegie Hall Stern Auditorium debut with the ensemble on February 7, 2013.

The Spanish conductor’s new season also includes orchestral performances with the Houston Symphony Orchestra, Orquesta y Coro Nacionales de España, Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra, Mozarteum Orchester Salzburg, Royal Academy of Music, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Orquesta Ciudad de Granada, and the Freiburger Barockorchester. In January 2013, Pablo will lead the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Midori in the world premiere performances of Peter Eötvös’s new violin concerto, DoReMi. On the operatic stage, Pablo will conduct Rigoletto with Deutsche Oper Berlin, Eötvös’s Angels in America with the LA Phil, Les vêpres siciliennes with Oper Frankfurt and Il Postino with Teatro Real, starring Plácido Domingo.

Last season harmonia mundi announced a significant recording relationship with Pablo. In 2013, they will release their first recording, Mendelssohn’s Symphony No. 2, “Lobgesang,” with Symphonieorchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks and soloists Christiane Karg, Christina Landshamer and Michael Shade. Their second disc, recorded in Pablo’s home city of Granada with the Freiburger Barockorchester, features Schubert’s Symphonies Nos. 3 & 4 and will be released this season.  A DVD of Rolando Villazón’s L’elisir d’amore, which Pablo conducted at the Festspielhaus Baden-Baden, is due for release by Euroarts.
