Freiburger Barockorchester tour

On the heels of his New York Philharmonic debut, Pablo Heras-Casado joins the Freiburger Barockorchester for a nine-city European tour featuring an all-Schumann program that sees violinist Isabelle Faust, cellist Jean-Guihen Queyras, and pianist Alexander Melnikov performing a trio of concerti by the German composer. The tour concerts open with Schumann’s rarely-performed Overture, Scherzo, and Finale in E Major. (Schumann’s Nachtlied and Brahms’s Ziegeunerlieder Nos. 8 & 10 replace the Overture in Barcelona.) In addition, Pablo and the Freiburger Barockorchester give audiences the opportunity to hear Schumann’s Concerto for Piano in A minor, Concerto for Violin in D minor, and Concerto for Cello in A minor on the ensemble’s period instruments.

Pablo kicks off his month-long collaboration with the Freiburger Barockorchester in Neumarkt (April 10), before continuing on to Schweinefurt (April 11), Freiburg (April 12), Cologne (April 13), Stuttgart (April 17), Brussels (April 22), Vienna (April 23 & 24), Barcelona (April 28), and Berlin (May 7).
